Simon Waksberg Exhibition Opening in Whitwell Tennessee
On Monday, November 9, 2026 join the Children’s Holocaust Memorial & Museum in Whitwell, Tennessee for a special, multifaceted event.
The evening will begin with a ceremony to rededicate the railcar, which sits outside the museum. The evening also marks the opening of two exhibitions: one about Roddie Edmonds, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, and the only American G.I. to be recognized as Righteous Among the Nations; and an exhibit about Simon Waksberg, who was a Holocaust survivor and lived with Oskar Schindler for a short time after the war. The Simon Waksberg artifact collection is on loan from the Spungen Family Foundation, and will be part of Whitwell’s exhibit for the next seven years. Student docents will be present to talk to guests about the exhibitions.
