Kevin Cloud, the composer and lyricist for VILNA, met Danny Spungen at an IBT Trade Show, where they connected over business and a passion for Holocaust history.
VILNA: A Resistance Story is a musical about Vitka Kempner, a 19-year-old Jewish girl who inspired the heroic Jewish resistance movement in the Vilna ghetto during the Holocaust. The musical is based off the lives of Jewish heroes Vitka Kempner, Abba Kovner, Hirsh Glick, and Avram Sutzkever, set against the backdrop of a vibrant klezmer-influenced pop score.
