Danny got connected with Dan Sturman, one of the directors of The Stamp Thief film, in 2019, when the film was still in its first drafts. Flash forward to 2025 when the film premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 9, where Danny was able to view it. The Spungen Foundation then helped sponsor a screening of the film in August 2025.
The Stamp Thief is part detective story, part heist film, and part untold history. The documentary investigates the mystery of a Nazi who stole priceless stamp collections from concentration camp victims and buried the stolen stamps in a small town in Poland. Producer Gary Gilbert set out to confirm the story about the stolen stamps and recover them with the goal of returning them to their rightful owners.
