Kindertransport Association & Kindertransport Association Speakers Bureau

The Foundation met Melissa Hacker, the Executive Director of the Kindertransport Association, in May of 2024 during the opening of the temporary Kindertransport exhibition at the Illinois Holocaust Museum in Skokie.

Thirty years ago, Kindertransport survivors created the Kindertransport Association, a nonprofit which connects these child Holocaust survivors and the next generations through reunions, commemorations, and online programs; educates about the Kindertransport as an important part of Holocaust History; and advocates for children at risk today, especially child refugees without parents. The KTA is now four generations strong—with members across the USA, ranging from 100 years to six months old. The KTA has a speakers bureau of survivors and, as we continue to lose Holocaust survivors, is dedicated to training second and third generation speakers.
